Rundown status flow: Draft to Completed | Notion

Every Story in Smart Rundown goes through a defined status flow.

The statuses

Status	Meaning
Draft	Story is being built. You can freely add, edit, and remove content.
Ready	Story is prepared and locked for execution. Can be scheduled.
Live	Story is currently on air. Elements can be triggered.
Completed	Story finished normally via the End Story button.
Cancelled	Story was stopped before completion.

Transitions

Draft → Ready — When you're satisfied with your Story structure
Ready → Live — Click Go Live to start the broadcast
Live → Completed — Click End Story when the broadcast is over
Live → Cancelled — If you need to abort the broadcast
Completed/Cancelled → Draft — Not directly possible. Duplicate the Story instead.

What you can do in each status

Draft: Full editing — add/remove Segments, Elements. Archive or delete.
Ready: Limited editing. You can still adjust Element properties but not restructure.
Live: No structural changes. You can edit text fields on Elements and trigger actions.
Completed/Cancelled: Read-only. You can review execution logs and duplicate the Story.

Note: Ready and Live Stories cannot be archived or deleted — only duplicated. This protects active broadcasts from accidental removal.
